REA – NEP signs PBG grant agreement with 2 Firms

REA/NEP-PMU SIGNS PBG AGREEMENTS WITH TWO MINI GRID DEVELOPERS

It was another eventful week at the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) Project Management Unit Office, when two companies Messrs. Leading Diagonal Engineering Nigeria Limited and Everlink Telesat Limited signed Performance Based Grant (PBG) agreements under the Nigeria Electrification Project (NEP).

The grant signing agreements took place at the conference room NEP Project Management Unit Office on Tuesday, 19th and Friday, 22nd July 2022 respectively. The first PBG agreement was signed by Engr. Kasimu Abdallah Abbah on behalf of Leading Diagonal Nigeria Limited to develop mini grid that will connect 1,131 households and MSMEs as well as provide access to electricity to over 5000 people at Loko-Yawal in Nasarawa State

Whilst, the second PBG agreement was signed by Engr, Benjamin Ogbalor on behalf of Everlink Telesat Network Limited to develop mini grid with 550kW PV capacity that will connect 6,235 customers as well as provide access to electricity to more than 30,000 people at Akugbene community in Delta State.

While thanking the Agency for the opportunities given to them as indigenous companies to participate in the NEP programme, representatives of the companies assured to complete and commission the projects within the third quarter of year 2022 or First quarter of year 2023.

The two signing agreements were presided over and signed by the Head, Project Management Unit, Anita Otubu on behalf of the REA, Managing Director, CEO, Engr. Ahmad Salihijo Ahmad.
