On April 15 and 16, 2019, the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) in collaboration with the World Bank held a two-day workshop on the Nigeria Electrification Project (NEP) Mini Grids and Solar Home Systems. Over 600 investors, financiers and private developers attended the event. The event provided prospective developers with procurement requirements to participate in the NEP Minimum Subsidy Tender and Performance-Based Grant for Component 1 (Solar Mini Grids). It also provided knowledge building on the Output Based Fund and the Market Scale-up Challenge Fund for Component 2 (Solar Home Systems). The workshop presentations included environmental and social requirements as well as training on Odyssey – the NEP online tender submissions platform.
