Northern Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) the most virile youth organization in the North that cuts across 19 Northern States and FCT conferred Anita Otubu, Head Project Management Unit, Nigeria Electrification Project (NEP) of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) with the SIR AHMADU BELLO PATINUM AWARD as ‘Garkuwan Matasan Arewa Nigeria’ as well as ‘Icon of the Societal Transformation’ on Thursday, 15 July 2021.
They attributed this feat to her philanthropic gesture in promoting educational development, youth empowerment and critical infrastructure as well as her relentless effort towards upholding accountability, probity, prudent and transparent management of both men and resources to the benefits of humanity which they added as part of the Council’s conscious efforts in identifying with true patriots whose selfless contribution towards making of modern Nigeria unique and engrave in the sand of time.
Responding to the very thoughtful gesture, Anita welcomed the NYCN Leadership and praised them for finding her worthy of this award. She said, “the weighty words and award bestowed on me is highly appreciated, I feel highly honored and happy, in fact I don’t even have enough words to describe how I feel”.
She however encouraged the youths to keep up the good work of promoting peace and integration which is most imperative in building bridges of national unity and cohesion. The advocacy and training are fantastic, it shows that there is love in the country. She promised to continue with her good works and assured them that they will not be disappointed.
The event took place at conference room of NEP office and in attendance were the NYCN Leadership from 6 geopolitical zones of the country, HPMU, Communication Specialist, ICT Lead and NEP Project Secretary.
