The African Development Bank–supported Nigeria Electrification Project (AfDB-NEP) between 14th- 23rd of December, 2025 carried out a due diligence and baseline data revalidation exercise across selected communities in Jigawa State under the Solar Hybrid Mini-Grid Minimum Subsidy Tender (MST) component. The exercise was undertaken as part of monitoring and evaluation activities following the successful deployment and operation of solar hybrid mini-grid systems in beneficiary communities.
Led by the Environmental and Social Safeguard officer, Mr Jonhson Adejoh the AfDB-NEP team engaged directly with community members and local stakeholders in Albasu, Badungu, Kirila, Idanduna, Kwari and other communities in Jigawa State. During the field visits and interactive engagements, the team reviewed existing baseline information, confirmed operational status, and gathered insights on electricity usage within the communities since the operational of the solar hybrid mini-grid systems.
The exercise reflects REA-NEP’s commitment to monitoring, accountability, and data integrity across its interventions. By continuously engaging beneficiary communities and validating project information post-implementation, the programme strengthens evidence-based reporting and supports informed decision-making in the delivery of sustainable electricity access.
